Police Bust Cyber Crime Syndicate Suspects in Imo



Operatives of the Imo State Police Command, Tactical Units has Arrested a syndicate of notorious Internet fraudsters who have been on the wanted list of the State Police for series of Cyber crimes committed within the Imo and neighbouring states.

The suspects includes Chidiebere Nwaguma ‘m’ 23years old, Chukwuemeka Johnson ‘m’ 20years old and Maduka Vincent ‘m’ 22years old indigenes of  Idemeogwa Mbaitoli Local Government Area, but a resident of Orogwe Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.

According to the Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bala Elkana, the suspects were arrested along Amakohia Owerri/Orlu Road Owerri in a Lexus 350 RX car with registration number GGE 966 GP suspected to be bought with the proceeds of crime. Upon interrogation, the Suspects confessed to have defrauded many unsuspecting members of the public.

Items recovered from them were Three (3) laptops and three I-Phones used in perpetrating cyber fraud and some wraps of  substances suspected to be Indian Hemp.

The State Commissioner of Police CP Abutu Yaro, fdc has issued a directive that the suspects be charged to Court.
