INSPIRATIONAL: COBHAM ASUQUO
Cobhams Asuquo
.
Nigerian-born Songwriter, Singer, Producer . . .
.
Was obviously born blind.
.
In a family of six children only Cobhams was born blind.
.
Well, the blindness didn’t deter him from positioning his dreams, though. That’s by the way!
.
He found the love of his life, Ojuolape, and they got married in 2010.
.
Wondering how Ojuolape got married to a blind man?
.
You wouldn’t, right?
.
Love can do anything, anyway.
.
Love, they say, is blind.
.
When a man discovers his purpose, his disabilities becomes abilities.
.
Their marriage was all rosy . . .
.
Ojuolape became pregnant in 2011, a year after their wedding.
.
And she was delivered of a baby boy, who was christened David.
.
Guess what?
.
The boy was born blind too.
.
Yes, their first son, David is also blind.
.
Cobhams isn’t just visually impaired, he has a virtually impaired son too.
.
Ojuolape isn’t just married to a visually impaired man, she birthed a visually impaired son too.
.
Is it challenging? Yes!
.
Did she give in? No!
.
Amazingly, the boy is 7 years old now, and he’s a bad-ass pianist like his father.
.
Quite recently, Tito Idakula, the wife of one of Nigeria’s finest Soul singers, Bez, hosted Ojuolape Asuquo on a show titled “My Jesus Experience”
.
She shared her thoughts on how challenging it is to have a blind son and a blind husband . . .
.
She was perplexed when the doctors told her that her son would be blind
.
And it was discovered four months after birth.
.
The video was emotion-studded.
.
Her faith quivered
.
But, she held on to Jesus, the author and finisher of her faith.
.
And of course, Cobhams Asuquo and family is living happily ever after . . . Not in spite of the predicaments, but because of them.
.
The morals of Ojuolape Asuquo is beyond the confines of marriage . . .
.
It is applicable to all ramification of life
.
You may wake up one morning and collapse . . .
.
You may be diagnosed of a chronic disease . . .
.
Your business may experience a slow . . .
.
Of course you never wished for it. You never wanted it so.
.
But, you have to accept it . . .
.
And live!
.
Great things are wrapped in ugly packs.
.
When life throws a stone at you, step on it and climb higher.
Have a great weekend!
