A Little 5-year old African-American Texas Resident, Nancy Woods was left alone in their High rise Building in the year 1961 while her Parents went for Shopping in a Neighborhood Mall.
Nancy, hungry and exhausted played round their apartment and ran into the Kitchenette. In an attempt to prepare a quick meal, She switched on the Cooking Gas while she searched for Match Box but the Cooking Gas exploded.
She sustained a 80-Degree Burn.
A prompt Intervention of the Fire and Emergency Services saved her life.
Regardless of her deformed body and stigmatization she was subjected to at the Elementary School and College,She topped her Class and made remarkable records in her Academics and Chosen Career, Midwifery.
She’s celebrated across the length and Breadth of the City.
