Hakeem Odumosu To Take Over From Zubairu Muazu As Next Lagos Commissioner of Police
Indications have emerged that the former Commissioner of Police, Edo State, CP Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu, have been selected as the next Police boss for Lagos State Command.
He is to take over from the incumbent, Zubairu Muazu who has been promoted to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General Of Police, AIG.
Muazu has been at the helm of affairs in Lagos, after acting CP Edgal Imohimi.
The Police Service Commission (PSC), recently promoted seven commissioners of police to the rank of AIG.
Among them are Zubairu, Edo State Danmallam Mohammed and Kano State Ahmed Iliyasu.
A reliable Police source at the Force Secretary Office, Force Headquarters explained that the Police authority at Lewis Edet House Abuja had deliberated between appointing CP Galadashi Dasuki and Odumosu, but CP Hakeem Odumosu was finally picked.
CP Odumosu who is from Lagos, it was further gathered, has been ‘floating’ without a proper posting in the last six months, after his Edo State assignment.
He is believed in many quarters to be an anointed son of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oba Akiolu of Lagos.
Hakeem Odumosu, was the Chairman, Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Miscellaneous Offences during the Administration of Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos state.
He was later the Commanding Officer of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), during the reign of Governor Raji Babatunde Fashola as governor of Lagos state.
He was subsequently promoted as Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP and redeployed to Akwanga, Nassarawa State as Area Commander.
Odumosu rose in ranks to his present status.
