In its drive to ensure maximum occupational safety and healthy Work environment in the West Africa Region and beyond, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health held the West Africa Conference 2020 edition on Wednesday, 22nd January in the Commercial Capital of Nigeria, Lagos.
The Safety and Health Institution assembled a set of seasoned Professionals, Technocrats, Security Agencies, Health Workers and major Stakeholders to discuss and deliberate the need to propagate and ensure seamless work safety and productive environment.
The major highlights of the Conference were Parallel Lecture Sessions held simultaneously for the Participants across the West Africa Countries, Participatory Discussion and Question and Answer Sessions.
During one of the Lectures, the Executive Director of Safety Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation, Engr. Jamiu Badmus stressed the importance of safety practice and its resultant results at work places. He restated Citizenry Safety management and Participation as Viable tool to check on-the-Job and work place Accidents.

In an interview session, the Director General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola called on the Employers of Labour to enroll on the Safety and Work accidenct Insurance Scheme set up by the Government and comply strictly with the Stipulated Global Work Safety Measures and Practices. He also enjoined Workers and Stakeholders to at all times ensure an accident free work environment.
