Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abioja Ajimobi has set up a reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved party members in Oyo State.
The committee, to be headed by former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, has 16 other members. The secretary is Prince Gbade Lana.
Ajimobi said team would ensure genuine reconciliation and reposition the party in the state. He acknowledged that everyone contributed to the party’s successes in the 2011 and 2015 elections, and should also accept they contributed to its setback in 2019.
He said: “I acknowledge that we all contributed to the party’s success in the past, particularly in the 2011 and 2015 elections. Therefore, if we had a setback in 2019, I believe it is honourable to accept that we all contributed directly or indirectly.”
Ajimobi urged party members to forgive one another, saying ‘the Oyo APC family has been offered a unique opportunity to rebuild, re-invigorate, reposition and consolidate our party for the challenges ahead. Let us seize this moment for the overall benefit of our party and our people. Let selfless and meaningful service to humanity be our watchword’.
