The Federal Government has embarked on building forty-three internal roads within tertiary institutions across the country. Minister for works and Housing Babatunde Fashola has said.
Fashola explained that eighteen out of the forty-three roads interventions have been completed, pointing out that such projects, although civil, are investment in education.
Fashola stated this at the handing over of 2.45-kilometer rehabilitated roads by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing at the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State yesterday.
The minister, who was represented by the Zamfara state Controller of Works of the ministry Muhammad Hassan, said that the project gulped N180m, while explaining that a lot need to be done in every sectors of national life including education.
He stated that forty-five people were employed in the process of the road construction in Zamfara thereby contributing to the job creation initiatives of President Muhammadu Buhari praying that the school will ensure that good utilisation of the road to be treated as asset.
The Buhari administration according to Fashola has stepped up to lead the process of getting the good work done in every specter of life stressing that quality of education will be impacted by the quality of infrastructure and learning environment.
In his remarks, rector of the federal polytechnic, Kaura Namoda revealed that the institution as part of its contribution to the development of the institution constructed and installed 78 Solar Street lights, 70 were dedicated to the main hostels.
