Boko Haram commander, Abu Usamah has been killed by Nigerian Army, according to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Acting Director of Media Operations, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko, unveiled this in a statement on Monday.
Onyeuko said that the soldiers who were leading an uncommon freedom activity in a backup activity called Operation Ayiso Tamonuma, had an experience with the psychological militants at Gorgi in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
He reviewed a previous press preparation where the military revealed that more than 100 guerillas were slaughtered while scores of them got away with shot injuries.
“As an update to that report, it is satisfying to take note of that, claim correspondence block affirmed by precise knowledge uncovered that a top Boko Haram Commander, Abu Usamah, was among those Boko Haram agitators executed during that experience,” the announcement said.
It included, “He (Usamah) had prior continued lethal discharge wounds in the firefight that followed during the experience before his infantry speedily emptied him and pulled back.
“Nevertheless, Abu Usamah died in the process. His demise has no uncertainty made an important vacuum in the Boko Haram administration, especially as the brave soldiers stay strong and keep on directing the criminal components from their last enclaves in the North East.”
In another improvement, Onyeuko said troops killed scores of the Boko Haram Terrorists and Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) radicals who endeavored to invade their area in Yobe State on Friday a week ago.
He noticed that the accomplishment was recorded by troopers of 159 Task Force Battalion under Operation Lafiya Dole conveyed in Forward Operating Base Kanama in Yunusari LGA.
The fear based oppressors, he stated, were seriously devastated by brave ground troops upheld by the Air Component of Operation Lafiya Dole, driving the radicals to pull back in confusion.
The Defense Media Operations Director uncovered that during the experience, a firearm truck and different arms and ammo were caught by the soldiers.
They included one DSHK firearm, two AK 47 rifles and magazines, one Rocket Propelled Grenade bomb, 273 rounds of hostile to airplane weapon ammo, 101 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammo, 15 jerricans of Premium Motor Spirit, and a Boko Haram banner.
Onyeuko said the Military High Command has complimented the soldiers for their flexibility, mental fortitude and devotion to the respectable aim of protecting the country against the criminal components.
