I’m okay with President Buhari leaving things to experts to handle instead of goofing like POTUS Trump. After all, what does a Major General know about Coronavirus? Or infectious diseases for that matter. The important thing is that we are getting all the information we need at this time.
Buhari’s job is to make decisions that will benefit Nigerians, not engage in talks and showmanship. A soldier has no time for that.
If you disagree with me, it is okay. It is your right. But I know you don’t really want to hear from Buhari. What you really want is a weak chink, a flaw, in his armour so that you can attack him from there. Good that he is not obliging you.
You forgot that he is a war general. The hallmark of a general is tactical prudence. He frustrates the enemy to surrender without wasting much arms and munitions.
When you make yourself the enemy of a popularly elected President, then you have made yourself the enemy of the country. And his job is to defend the country.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting it is not okay to criticize him. By all means, please criticize him. But be objective and responsible about it. Respect his person, his office and his rights. That is what I do. I’m a Buharist but I’m also one of his government’s harshest critics. Disagree if you will, it is a matter of opinion.
Since you people have refused to respect the wish of millions of Nigerians, you have to live with what you get. When you insult my Major General, you are not insulting him alone. You are also insulting millions of Nigerians (and that includes me) who voted him to be our President in spite of his imperfections.
Nobody says Buhari knows it all. Nobody does. I certainly did not, and still do not, expect him to score 100 percent in office. No body can, aside God himself.
And I certainly did not vote an orator. I knew Buhari’s difficiencies but I voted him nevertheless because I saw him as better than all those who lined up to lead us at the time. If that was an error of judgment on my part, I’m ready to live with it.
The year 2023 is not far off. Let him be; let him serve out the mandate we have given him rightly or wrongly. Until then, don’t expect me to score an own goal by dumping him. Buharists don’t score own goal.
Thank you brother. Millions of people who voted PMB have a right to their choice and are ready to support him to the end and that’s 2023 because in a democracy, change can only come through elections or impeachment.
