A community has written the Speaker of the Ogun State of Assembly Taiwo Oluomo, a hilarious appreciation letter for gifting 2,400 houses 2 bags of rice to support their living during the lockdown to stem the spread of Covid-19.
The letter reads.
An Open Letter To;
The Attention of:
Hon. Taiwo Oluomo
The Hon. Speaker
Ogun State House of Assembly,
State Secretariat,
Abeokuta.
Ogun State.
A SINCERE MESSAGE OF APPRECIATION(?)
On Wednesday, 1st April 2020 the Chairman ofAjumoserere Community Development Committee (CDC) of Ifo Local Government summoned the Executive Committee (EXCO) hierarchy of each of the sixty (60) Community Development Associations (CDAs) to an emergency meeting.
Considering the lockdown directives of both the Federal and State governments, the CDA EXCOs were apprehensive about the nature and conduct of the proposed emergency meeting.
However, when we were hinted that the meeting was aimed at sharing the largesse from you, Mr. Speaker, our their apprehension was rested.
At the meeting, the Chairman, Mr. Anifowose, of the CDC surrounded by his EXCO members showed the gathering the largesse, from you, Sir, which of course happened to be two bags of 50kg rice.
The CDC Chairman urged the gathering to collectively come up with a strategy for sharing of the largesse.
Many members aired their views and opinions on the sharing process of your gift to us.
However, one suggestion struck the attention of members in attendance.
Having asserted that there are roughly 2400 houses in the CDC given the fact that a minimum of 40 houses constitute a CDA.The member started by humbly appreciating you, Mr Speaker for remembering the CDC in this coronavirus disease pandemic induced trying-lockdown times in the country.
To this end, we, members of the CDC, are unanimously join the member in thanking you for this noble gesture of yours.
However, and according to the contribution of the member, he suggested that we dould successfully reach each of the 2400 houses in the CDC if the 2-bags of rice is shared using the tin of Rob ointment.
His fears, which we all agreed with, was that using a thing of Peak Milk in the sharing process would definitely lead to leaving some households out of largesse, a process we considered as being very unfair!
Conclusively, Mr. Speaker, Sir, we still remain appreciative of this noble gesture of yours.
Notwithstanding, we would certainly appreciate you more, peradventure if you have any suggestion(s) on how best to share the said largesse without leaving any household behind.
Thank you.
We look forward to seeing you during campaigns for 2023 general elections.
