Former Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba’s desire to lead his nation’s football federation is in a dice situation after he received a massive shocker from the former footballers association elections with zero vote.
A total of eleven out of fourteen members of the Association of ex footballers voted for his opponent Sory Diabate while three members didn’t turn up.
Drogba and Idriss Diallo, who is Vice-President of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) in charge of Marketing and Promotion Commission received no votes. The voting was taken through video conferencing.
Didier Drogba was endorsed by 48 clubs making him the most favourite to replace Augustin Sidy DIALLO the current Ivorian Football Federation president before de declared his candidature.
The main election is expected to take place later in 2020.
