Over 42,000 persons in Africa have been infected with the Coronavirus, says the World Health Organization.
The WHO African Region has also reported more than 1,700 COVID-19 fatalities.
According to its most recent report, South Africa has the highest tally: 6,336 confirmed cases and 123 deaths.
Algeria comes second, with 4,295 infected with the Coronavirus and 459 deaths.
Nigeria is third, with 2,388 confirmed cases. Although, 385 have been discharged, it has sadly recorded 85 fatalities.
Ghana has 2,169 confirmed cases and 18 deaths.
Cameroun has so far reported 2,077 cases and 64 fatalities.
