The younger brother of an Ebonyi House of Assembly member has been found dead in his car booth along the ever busy Nkwagu axis of Abakaliki/Afikpo express road.
The middle-aged Samuel Aleke was said to have left his house on Saturday and was not seen until Sunday inside the booth of his car dead
He is the younger brother of the member representing Ebonyi North West in the State House of Assembly, Victor Aleke.
A source said that the deceased had informed the wife he was going to collect earpiece from a friend.
He was said to have left without his three kids and pregnant wife knowing that was the last of him they would see.
The source stated that after several hours of waiting for his return, the wife raised the alarm, triggering a search for him.
However, his body was found the next day inside the trunk of his car.
The source further revealed that the deceased, who resides along Chinedu Ogah Avenue, had wounds on his face and back, suggesting he might have been beaten and strangled to death by unknown assailants.
Aleke, who drove a Toyota Camary was believed to a gentleman who never engaged in any trouble.
The source added that the matter has been reported to the police and expressed the optimism that the motive behind his assassination would be unravelled.
Police Spokesman, Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident.
She said that the deceased’s corpse was recovered by the police along Nkwagu axis of the express road.
She said information available revealed the deceased said he was going to collect earpiece and purchase recharge card.
DSP Odah said that the corpse of the deacsed had been deposited at the mortuary, adding that investigation was on to apprehend and prosecute his killers.
