The wife of the Kwara State Governor, Mrs. OluFolake Abdulrazaq has commenced distribution of palliative to over two hundred household in the state to cushion the effect Corona virus lockdown.
Mrs Olufolake stated that the gesture was part of resolution reached by the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum to distribute palliatives to indigent and vulnerable groups in each of their various states.
She said the gesture is timely considering the lockdown period as it is not an easy period for Nigerians, especially those who are in dire need, stating that the exercise is targeted at assisting the vulnerable due to economic hardship caused by the pandemic.
Mrs. Olufolake therefore, called on well-meaning Muslims to use the spirit of Ramadan to assist the less privileged in the society and expressed confidence that the nation would soon overcome the present economic challenges of the pandemic.
The sum of one hundred thousand naira was presented earlier to the Kwara Ladies Football Club by the First-Lady as part of palliatives to cushion the effect of coronavirus.
the Chairman of the team, Mr Daudu Jimoh, appreciated the First-Lady, said the money would be used judiciously and prayed God to put an end to the pandemic
In another development, the President of the Association of Female Tailors in the state, Mrs Elizabeth Animashaun presented locally made face masks to the Wife of the Kwara State Governor, Olufolake Abdulrazaq, saying that the gesture was part of the association’s contribution in curbing the spread of COVID-19.
