Just yesterday a motorcyclist known as Laolu Omogunwa allegedly raped a middle-aged woman which led to the lost of her pregnancy.The whole incident took place inside a forest at Ago Akingboye village in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo state.

It was found that the perpetrator took the 30-year-old pregnant woman to another village as a passenger to buy palm kernels, but allegedly diverted the trip to a forest where he allegedly raped her.
Speaking on her ordeal, the victim said she had been fooled by Omogunwa to another route on the pretense that she would get the palm kernels cheaper at the place.
“He rode the okada through a lonely forest, then he stopped abruptly on the way and pulled me into the bush.I tried to fight but he overwhelmed me and tried to strangle me.Before I was raped he dispossessed me of my phone and N150,000. He hurt me before I went unconscious, “she said.

The victim said Omogunwa left her in the bush after being unconscious, believing she was dead but luckily she was revived by heavy rain that fell shortly after the deed. She said when she was not seen by the family at the time she was expected back home, they formed a search party to find her where she was struggling to crawl on the floor.
She said it took her about 48 hours to regain consciousness, and she lost her pregnancy due to heavy bleeding.

It was gathered that the matter had been submitted to the police department when the suspected rapist whereabout is still unknown. Efforts to contact the spokesman for the command of the state police, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, were unsuccessful as his mobile was inaccessible at the time this report was sent.

However, the Ajagba town king, Oba Adesayo Ajibade, who is the traditional ruler of the villages in the region, said the act was against the community custom and that having sex with women on bare ground was a severe taboo in the region.
Oba Ajibade said the result of the desecration of the town’s tradition was low crop yield and famine unless the perpetrator apprehended, and necessary things were done in accordance with the tradition of the land.
