The Presidency on Tuesday said President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana has called the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on the telephone and apologised over the demolition of a building on the premises of the nation’s high commission in Accra.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists.
The presidential aide further quoted Akufo-Addo as saying that he had ordered full investigation into the demolition.
The statement read, “President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana Tuesday spoke to President Muhammadu Buhari, expressing his sincere apology for demolition of a building on the premises of Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana.
“In a telephone call, the Ghanaian leader told President Buhari that he has directed full investigation into the incident.
“Earlier in the day, it further emerged that some suspects had been arrested, and will be arraigned in court.”
