The Chairman House Committee on Lands, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon.
Adedamola Richard Kasunmu has expressed total shock and sadness at the death of the Sen. Bayo Oshinowo (a.k.a Pepperitto), who passed on suddenly on Monday June 15th.
In a statement made available by the Media Office the lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2, Hon. Kasunmu described Sen. Oshinowo’s death as “shocking and perplexing”.
According to the statement,
“Senator Osinowo’s death is more than a shock and I am still finding it difficult to believe that Pepper is gone. This is indeed a sad news and a sad day”.
“Apart from being my immediate predecessor as the Chairman House Committee on Lands, Sen. Bayo Osinowo was like a father figure, mentor and counsellor to me in the 8th Assembly”.
Commenting further on the demise of the iconic politician, Hon. ARK stated;
“Being a ranking legislator and an experienced political figure who had been a member of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Assemblies before we were inaugurated in 2015 for the 8th Assembly, Sen. Osinowo played a major role in helping me to settle down and stabilise as a new Lawmaker in 2015. He was always very accommodating, receptive and ready to assist. His political sagacity and legislative acumen were simply astonishing”.
“Our dear State of Lagos, Nigeria and indeed the entire Progressives community have lost a passionate parliamentarian, seasoned leader and legendary politician and the vacuum created by Pepper’s sudden exit will certainly be difficult to fill”.
“On behalf of the good people of Ikeja Constituency 2 and the Lands Committee of Lagos State House of Assembly
I seize this opportunity to express our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the larger Osinowo families worldwide, the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly and all Honourable members and staff of the House, the leadership and members of the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria, our national leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State and across the nation as well as the Government and people of Lagos State..
Pepper’s demise is an irreplaceable loss and we will miss him greatly. May his soul rest in peace”.
Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu.
