Barakat Bello, an 18 years old young lady was alone in her parents home at Akinyele area Ibadan yesterday when some men invaded the house, raped her and she died in the process.

The perpetrators of the heinous crime are believed to be armed robbers who came to steal in their house. She has been buried this morning according to Islamic rite.

She was a year one student in Federal College of Animal Health and Production, Ibadan, Oyo State.

In this particular case, nobody could blame her travail on indecent or sex provoking dress.
She was a Muslim hijabite sister who was known for modest dressing habit. Even those that often talk of indecent and sex provoking dress as predisposing factor for rape didn’t get it right .

Ultimately,no excuse is acceptable for rape and rape remains unjustifable in the eyes of law, religion and morality.

We equally demand justice for Barakat. Police must urgently swift into action to fix out the perpetrators of the dastardly act. This is highest demonstration of insanity.
