Wondering what Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, have in common? They are both members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the same Yoruba race and both are men of outstanding style.
Only a few know that these top politicians share the same birthday. The only difference is one is five years older than the other. On Thursday, June 25, the Speaker clocked 58 while Sanwo-Olu celebrated his 55th birthday.
There was no loud ceremony because the governor said that the best birthday gift anyone could give him at this period was to identify those at the bottom of the pyramid wherever they reside, lift them up by putting smiles on their faces. That, according to him, would have lifted his heart too.
Sanwo-Olu described his birthday mate as a dogged, determined and hardworking friend while praying to God continue to keep the Speaker in good health.
Unlike Sanwo-Olu, in politics, Gbajabiamila has been around for a while. The lawyer was elected to the House in 2003, representing Surulere I Federal Constituency in Lagos, and re-elected in 2007.
