The Lagos State Safety Commission has organised a sensitisation programme for 200 Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) officials tagged: ‘Health and Safety Sensitisation on Hygiene Management’ held in batches at LASTMA Headquarters and Safety Arena, Bolade, Oshodi at the weekend.
The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, in his keynote address at the event, disclosed that the training was organised for the officials, who daily interact with members of the public, on the need to take precautionary measures from contacting COVID-19.
According to him, “The Coronavirus is very real and preventable if we all adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines stipulated by NCDC and the Ministry of Health. We must all take responsibility to identify, manage and eliminate the risk of getting infected”.
While presenting safety kits to the participants, Mojola urged the officials to adhere strictly to all safety protocols, especially the use face masks and hand sanitisers, constant washing of hands with soap and water as well as maintaining a minimum of two metres distance from the next person.
In their remarks, the General Manager (LNSC), Mr. Gboyega Bajulaiye and Director Training (LASTMA), Mrs. Olawunmi Dada, commended the State Government for the laudable programme and presentation of kits to the officials, pledging their unflinching support to ensure that their officers comply strictly with all safety protocols in the discharge of their duties.
