Prominent Edo leaders on Tuesday advised former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, not to dissipate so much time and energy campaigning for APC gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu and his running mate, Gani Audu.
‘’Most people see Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Gani Audu as not possessing the leadership character required to lead Edo State in this new age’’ the leaders said.
They also accused the former governor of overheating the polity and exposing the nation’s fragile democracy to greater danger.
‘’Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu should get ready to suffer another defeat’’
In a communiqué made available to journalists in Benin, the leaders described Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as an obstacle to a better Edo State.
They commended the good people of Edo State for abandoning Ize-Iyamu ‘and his shylock godfather, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
‘’Governor Godwin Obaseki has come to take the people to the Promised Land. He has no problem cruising into victory. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole don’t mean well for Edo State. He sees Edo State as his private fiefdom’’
The leaders emphasized good governance, mass oriented projects, successes of the current administration and ethical reengineering.
They also stressed on the re-orientation of the mental attitude of the populace, education, health and environment.
Specifically, they underscored the welfare of the workers, urban development, industrial growth, security, social values and road construction.
‘’There is a lot to show for the internally generated revenue as well as that which accrued from the federation account’’
The communiqué signed by the Chairman, Obaseki-Shaibu Victory Movement (OSVM), Chief John Obanor described Governor Obaseki as incorruptible and transparently honest man.
The leaders praised the incumbent governor for engaging in integrated development, ensuring the flow of real investment and bringing prosperity to Edo State.
‘’PDP is a party that has solid structures across the state. Edo State people remain the best judges. They hold Governor Godwin Obaseki in high esteem because of the positive changes in the state. We are very confident that Obaseki and Comrade Phillip Shaibu are going to win the September 19 governorship election.
