THE Chairman of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State Suleiman Chukuba has been invited by the Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC) for questioning over misappropriation of funds.
Chukuba was queried by the anti-corruption agency over the misappropriation of N50 million tenement rates meant for the council.
The Nation learnt that the chairman was invited by the Commission based on a petition brought against him by a resident of Shiroro Muhammadu Wana.
In the petition, Wana alleged that Chukuba collected N50 million from the North-South Power Company as tenement rate but shared part of the said money to some individuals.
He stated that the N50 million was an instalment of N100 million which meant for Shiroro council.
The ICPC had last week invited the council Vice Chairman Isiyaku Bawa, the Treasurer, Haruna Manta and House leader Yusuf Aliyu to Abuja for questioning on the matter.
