The Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has said that his administration, aside ensuring an equitable spread of roads across the State, is also delivering roads that meet best practices, quality and enduring architecture that suits the peculiar environment of the State.
He also assured citizens that his administration will.contijue to spread good road network and other amenities to all the senatorial districts of the State in consonance with his administration’s development agenda.
This was disclosed during the flag-off of the rehabilitation of the 1.98km Agba Township Road today.
Oyetola, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, said that although the State Government is determined to be prudent with its lean resources, yet it would not compromise quality in its service to the people.
“Our engineers have a rich history of delivering quality and enduring jobs through direct labour. Consequently, we shall not compromise quality for whatever reasons, as good road network is complement of a sustainable economic recovery and prosperity that we are working hard to achieve in the State”, Oyetola said.
Describing the scope of the road, which is set to be completed in three months, Oyetola said that the road is 9.3 meters in width, and the scope consist of earthwork, reinforced concrete line drains, reinforced concrete retaining walls, laterite sub-base course, prime coat, 40mm asphalt and road furniture.
Speaking about the impact of the road on the people, the Governor said: “there is no doubt that the rehabilitation of this road will bolster the quality of the lives of the people, enhance their movement and the transportation of their produce from farms to sales points for economic exchange”.
