An Akure, Ondo State high court, on Tuesday,  sentenced a popular prophet, Alfa Babatunde and five others to life imprisonment having been found guilty of child kidnapping.

The founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Prophet Babatunde had been facing trial for alleged kidnapping of one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole, who got missing from church in 2019.

Justice Odusola had found the six accused guilty of a two-count charge of kidnapping and aiding and abetting to kidnap based on the evidence presented by the prosecution team.

Prophet Babatunde and others have been on trial since Kolawole Gold disappeared from his church’s children department during a Sunday service on November 10, 2019.

Ondo State government and the state security service had arraigned Pastor Babatunde in court on Monday, December 23, 2019 accusing him of culpability in the mysterious disappearance of Gold. He was said to have conspired with some of his church workers to perpetrate the evil act.
