The Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, has organised a peace meeting with politicians across political parties in his domain over the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
This is contained in statement by the palace spokesperson, Chief Wole Benson, on Sunday, titled, ‘Ondo election: Osemawe sues for peace’.
The statement explained that the monarch organised the peace meeting with major political stakeholders in Ondo West and East local government areas.
It added that the parley was in preparation for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The forum, according to the statement, had in attendance, politicians from the All Progressives Congress, Zenith Labour Party, and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Osemawe was quoted as saying, “As a father to all, I wouldn’t want the blood of any of my subjects be shed as a result of political upheavals.”
The statement added that the political leaders promised to abide by the electoral rules and ensure zero thuggery activities during the election.
The leaders of the three political parties, according to the statement, signed a Peace Accord Memorandum of Understanding, which was also countersigned by the commander of the Ondo Police Area Command.
