Political differences were set aside as chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress and those of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party attended the wedding of the son of the PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, and the daughter of former Chairman of the EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu.
The wedding ceremony, which took place in Asokoro, Abuja, on Saturday, had in attendance the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, pioneer National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, and the caretaker National chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and his Kano and Kaduna counterparts, Abdullahi Ganduje and Nasir El-Rufai respectively.
Former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who is a chieftain of the PDP, was also in attendance.
The father of the bride, who was the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is currently a chieftain of the APC.
Expressing his gratitude to all who attended the event, Atiku in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, @atiku, wrote, “On behalf of my family, I thank those present and also well-wishers for their prayers at the Wedding Fatiha of my dear son, @HHMustaphaAA and his wife, Afrah El-Nafaty. May Allah bless you all for making it a truly special day for me and my family.”
