Six persons allegedly involved in setting ablaze and looting of several private and public facilities across the state including Police Stations during the #ENDSARS protests in Ondo State have been arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun).
Speaking with newsmen in Akure, the Commander of the Security Network Agency, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said arrangements have been concluded to handover the suspects to the Police for indepth investigations and prosecution.
The Commander said that the suspects confessed to taking part in the violent lootings that characterised the #ENDSARS protests that were hijacked by hoodlums in some parts of the state and that they have made useful statements that would be further explored by security agencies at getting more links to the unfortunate incident.
” From our investigations, we found out that they could actually be a very good link to all others who were involved. Some of them were arrested with military jackets, knifes, motorbikes, Police uniforms” he said
Chief Adeleye said Amotekun Corps would continue to work within the legal framework which established it for the provision of adequate security for all residents of the State.
” To the residents of the state, we want to reassure them that our zero tolerance to crime will be taken to latter and we will work hand in hand with other conventional security agencies to rid the state of criminals.”he said
