“See you in Washington, Washington DC, on January 6th. Don’t miss it,” President Donald Trump wrote in a tweet, promising more information later.
Members of Congress convene in a joint session to count electoral votes.
At least 11 members or elected members of the House of Representatives intend to oppose the electoral votes. They have not yet received an undertaking from a senator; Challenges require both representatives. The objection does not take effect unless the majority in each house votes in its favor.
About two dozen Republican senators have already said they will not oppose the vote, according to an Epoch Times. Others indicated that they would not join the objection.
President Donald Trump repeatedly called on Republican senators to oppose the vote, citing widespread electoral fraud in swing states.
