Following the protest staged by farmers of Abraka and Umutu over killings and destruction of their farm lands and crops by Herdemen, the Divisional Police Officer
of Abraka and Umutu led a Joint Operation comprising of Police Officers,
DSS operatives and Vigilantes from Ethiope East and Ukwuani Local Government Areas, a Government Reserves Parcel of land at Obiaruku to clampdown on the suspected criminals and restore nomalcy.
The Joint Team of the security operatives stormed the hideout of the suspects and
conducted a thorough search of the areas to make arrest.
On sighting the Police Officers and the backup Team, the hoodlums engaged the police in a gun duel which lasted for some few minutes. In a Gallantry display, the Team repelled the attack. However, some of the suspect escaped with gunshot injuries.
Four (4) suspects were arrested. They include one Lucky Eduvire age ‘Male ’ 31yrs, Freedom Uguru ‘Male’ age 33yrs, Enita Omogware male’ age 38yrs, Henry Blessing Ovie age 25yrs and three (3) Motorcycles were recovered. Accordingto the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, a manhunt for the fleeing suspects has started.
In the same vein, a unit of the Delta State Police Command, Rapid response Squad operatives after series of intelligence gathering and information provided by the general public, raided a hideout of illicit drugs dealers behind Ibori Golf in Asaba Town. At the end of the operation, two (2) suspects were arrested; one Sunday Nwankwo ‘Male’ 22yrs and Endurance Okwute ‘Male’ 19yrs old. The suspects led the Police to their houses. With a search warrant, some quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, substances suspected to be cocaine and other illicit drugs were recovered.
In the last few months, the Delta State Police Command has been on the constant trail of a gang suspected to have murdered one Austin Emu in Kwale on last year December. A case CP Ali ordered compression investigation into to arrest the suspects and brought to justice.
Last Sunday, 28th March, 2021, a Team detectives from Kwale acting on intelligence report arrested one Odili Opochi ‘Male’ who was. alleged to have be among those who murdered the said Austin Emu, the President of Anti-Cultism Organisation in Delta State. The suspect have confessed and gave useful information on his involvement in the crime case.
In his commitment to rid the state of unscrupulous elements, the Divisional Police officer ‘A’ Division Warri, CSP T.Y Mahmud mobilized Police officers to raid a black spot at Panapina by Nigerian Port Authority. In the course of the operation,
One Henry Sekodi ‘Male’ age 35yrs also known as ‘Ayama’, a resident of Ibekebor community Burutu LGA was nabbed. During an interrogation, the suspect confessed to be a Cultist, a member of Hartlust Confraternity. He also said that he collected ransom from some kidnap victims some time in 2018. He revealed his allies; cult members to include one Terry Alfred, Kewie (surname unknown), Moses Kaide who is the leader of Hartlust Confraternity.
According to Press Release made available to National Association of Online Security News Publishers[NAOSNP], one Daniel Mayuku age 45yrs while enroute Oghara to Mosogar along Benin/Warri express way was involved in a road accident. A Mercedez Benz with Registration number GRA 757 XA had a break failure and hit a lorry with a Registration number SMK 299 YC which was directly Tricycle at the rear, the lorry in turn hit the Tricycle Mayuku was riding from behind which led to the death to his death on the spot while the drivers of the two Lorries took to their heels and abandoned their trucks.
A Team of Traffic Personnel were mobilized to scene of the accident where Photographs of the corps was taken for evidence and documentation purposes. The Vehicles involved in the auto crash were evacuated while the corps was deposit at the Oghara General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
