As part of activities marking the 69th birthday of the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, gift items were donated to orphanage homes across Lagos and Ogun States respectively.
The gifts include food items that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Foundation, a nongovernmental organization, saddled with the responsibility of breaking the shackles of poverty by supporting the less privilege in the society, distributed to orphanage homes. Hundreds of cartons of noodles, tens of bags of rice and several cartons of provisions and toiletries were given to the children in the visited orphanage homes.
The donations, which was facilitated by the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, was handed out by the BAT Director-General, Hon. Ahmed Omisore in the company of the Foundation’s Director of Media, Barrister Mobolaji Sanusi and other members of the Foundation.
Speaking at the orphanage homes, the Foundation Director-General, Hon. Ahmed Omisore, said the donation was to further demonstrate the love and kindness of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards the less privilege, adding that it was an extension of his humanitarian largesse to the needy and less privilege in the society.
He recalled that the Foundation had on March 10, this year donated an 18-seater New Hummer Bus to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Council, adding that it has also delivered three trailers of rice to be shared by the the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Omisore said the donation of the food items to the orphanages is one of the segments of the donations to be made by the Foundation which, he said, would be in batches.
He promised that other needy people would be identified across the nation and their peculiar needs would be attended to by the Foundation.
He said: “This Foundation is committed to the welfare of the Nigerian citizens irrespective of tribes, religions, places of birth or political affiliations. We are to identify those in urgent need first and cater for them while we extend the welfare largesse to others in the society.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu believes in children as future leaders of the nation which is why he cannot but support them. This donation of foods to the orphanages, though in commemoration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tibubu’s 69th birthday, will be a continuum that will reach all other needy people in the society.”
“Recently, we delivered more than two trailers of rice to be shared by the IDPs in Borno State. We are sure it would go a long way to reduce hunger among the IDPs. We have equally supported the NUJ Lagos chapter with a brand new Hummer Bus to ease their jobs.”
“I am using this opportunity to tell Nigerians that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has more for everybody in the country irrespective of their status.”
“I therefore use this opportunity to urge Nigerians to support Tinubu in his bid to develop the country.”
According to the foundation’s Director of Media, Mobolaji Sanusi, the Foundation has reached out to various orphanage homes in Lagos and Ogun States including Little Saints Orphanage at Abule-Egba, Lagos, SOS Children Village, Isolo, Lagos, and Ijamido Children’s Home (Willoughby’s Home), Otta Ogun State.
During the foundation’s visit to the SOS Children’s Village in Isolo, the village’s Sponsorship Coordinator, Mrs. Mariam Daramola who received the foundation’s team expressed her delight at the good gesture extended to the village by Tinubu through the Foundation. She explained to the visiting team, the mission statement and objectives of the village which she said was established 46 years ago.

She said the management of the orphanage home would support his political ambition within its own capacity, saying she is praying to God to use him to bless the country.
“In any way our father, Tinubu, wants us to help, we are at his beck and call. In any way he wants Ijamido Home to have an impact on whatever he is doing, we are ready. So, we thank him for this great support and we promise to reciprocate in our own capacity.
“From our record, Asiwaju and his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, have been regular donors to our home and our sincere prayers is for God to continue to bless him in multiple folds,” she said.
