Bandits have killed two more students of Greenfield University located along Kaduna-Abuja highway in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday signed by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state.
Aruwan said the bodies of the students have been recovered and deposited at the mortuary.
He also noted that the state government has notified the university about the development.
According to the commissioner, the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is saddened by the evil being perpetrated by the criminals.
“On a sad note, security agencies have just reported to the Kaduna State Government the recovery of two more dead bodies of Greenfield University students, killed by armed bandits today, Monday 26th April 2021,” he said.
“The retrieved corpses have been evacuated to a mortuary, and the university has been notified of the development.
“The Government of Kaduna State under the leadership of Malam Nasir El-Rufai is saddened by this evil perpetrated against innocent students abducted while pursuing their education for a glorious future.
“The Government sends its deep empathy to their families and the university management, and prays for the repose of their souls.
“The Government will update the citizenry on further developments.”
The gunmen had stormed the school last Tuesday and adopted staff and students said to be numbering 23.
They demanded N800 million for the release of the students, but while negotiations were on with the parents, the bandits killed three of the students three days later.
