Telecoms operator, MTN Nigeria has announced that its customers will be unable to purchase data for their internet-enabled devices from 12 midnight on Friday till 6am on Sunday.
This was contained in a notice by the mobile network operator on Friday night.
The notice read: “Due to an upgrade, data purchase will be unavailable from 12 midnight to 6am on April 25th, 2021.
“If you can, please recharge and buy a data bundle before this time. Apologies for inconvenience.”
MTN, the largest telecoms operator in the country, had earlier this month suffered downtime of the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) on its platform following the suspension by commercial banks.
The service was, however, restored after two days following the intervention of Isa Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, while discussions were being held on agreed charges between the telco and banks
