Victor Imagbe, the bursar of hi the University of Benin (UNIBEN), escaped abduction on Thursday after gunmen raided his home along Sapele Road, Benin, the Edo State capital, around 2.30am.

However, the gunmen shot dead Ugiagbe Alex Osaghae, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and made away with his rifle.

His corpse was deposited in the mortuary of the Central Hospital, Benin
