Three persons have been feared killed in a fresh communal clash in Odukpani local government area of Cross River.
Vice-Chairman of the council, Mr. Aniofiok Inyang, who visited the area, told The Nation: “Two died from among Okoyong community and one among the Ikot Offiong people.”
He said the clash was among the Ikot Offiong people who settled in Ubambat, one of the villages within the Okoyong community.
He said security agencies have been mobilised to the area.
An indigene of the Okoyong community, Comrade Ekpeyong Akiba, also confirmed the incidence, stating the” tension is still high in the Okoyong Communities as people have started parking and relocating from the community.”
He alleged Ikot Offiong indigenes sparked the fresh crisis in the early hours of Wednesday when they suddenly mobilised from Ubambat village, a place he alleged they forcefully occupied in the Okoyong community.
