The national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Iyorcha Ayu, on Thursday goofed during the party’s presidential campaign rally in Kano.
While apparently referring to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Ayu mistakenly urged the electorate to reject the PDP because it had put the country to shame on the global stage.
He said: “We are supposed to be the leaders in Africa, and everywhere in the world, but the PDP has brought us shame and we will not continue to retain them in power.”
He subsequently asked the crowd to vote for the PDP from top to bottom.
Recall that the presidential candidate of the party Atiku Abubakar had also made a similar goof in December during the party’s campaign rally in Jos.
The PDP standard bearer, while addressing a mammoth crowd at Rwang Pam township stadium in Jos, said: “For God’s sake and for the value of this place, ensure that you vote for AP, I mean PDP, this time around”.
