Prince Taiwo Oyekan, Honourable Councillor Representing Ward C1 and Deputy Leader of Lagos Island Local Government Area has reactivated Grassroot campaign activities
for the Re-election of the Lagos State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and House of Assembly, Hon. Omolara Oyekan-Olumegbon in the Isale-Eko Community and its adjoining Quarters, Citizen NewsNG reports.
Prince Oyekan and his Team Members kicked-off the campaign from Ehin Iga (The back of Oba of Lagos Palace).
The Team visited Oju Oworo, Iduntafa, Oja Oba Market, Oju Olokun, Erelu Square, Enu-Owa, Shasore Street, Alagbeji and Orisan Community. The journey terminated at the Oba of Lagos Palace.
While on the tour of over One hundred Households, Prince Oyekan said that the Grassroot campaign became necessary to showcase the Achievements of Governor Sanwo-Olu, sensitise and mobilise the residents for his Re-election.
“We will continue to Intensify efforts to ensure all-round victory for Sanwo-Olu and all the APC House of Assembly Candidates in the 2023 general elections”, Prince Oyekan told Citizen NewsNG Correspondent.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu has fulfilled his campaign promises. He has set Lagos on the path of socioeconomic Development”.
“He has empowered millions of residents across religious and ethnic groups. He is running a Purposeful administration”, Prince Oyekan stated.
He also outlined Road infrastructure, Multimodal Transportation system, Housing Estates, Education, Agriculture and Food Security, Healthcare, Security and Emergency management as Sanwo-Olu’s Achievements.
“Indeed, in Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Administration, Lagos is Rising”, Prince Oyekan eulogised.
Continuing, the Lagos Prince described Sanwo-Olu as a Performing Governor who has over a short period of time transformed Lagos State to an enviable height through the ‘Greater Lagos Project’.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the Best Choice For Lagos State”, He said.
He urged the residents to support and come out in large numbers to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Hon. Omolara Oyekan-Olumegbon and other APC House of Assembly Candidates on Saturday.
Citizen NewsNG gathered that over One Thousand (1000) People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Members joined the APC.
Speaking on behalf of the Decampees,
Hon. Afeez Baki, PDP Ward Chairman cited Sanwo-Olu’s Unprecedented Achievements as one of the reasons he and other Members on Lagos Island Local Government Area joined the APC.
“With Prince Taiwo Oyekan and his Team, we will deliver all the Polling units in our wards for Governor Sanwo-Olu and Hon. Omolara Oyekan-Olumegbon on Saturday”, Hon. Baki vowed.
A PDP Women Leader in ward B1, Mrs. Funke Adesegun and her Followers also dumped the Umbrella for Broom, the APC Logo. She declared unalloyed Support for Sanwo-Olu’s Re-election.
Mrs. Adesegun commended Sanwo-Olu’s Leadership and Achievements in the state.
She stated further that she would lead other women in Isale-Eko Community to vote for Sanwo-Olu.
Mrs. Latifat Abidemi Adebayo from Ward C1 said that she is fully back to the Progressives family, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She however expressed optimism that Sanwo-Olu will win his Re-Election bid with wide margin.
The Team visited Oju Oworo, Iduntafa, Oja Oba Market, Oju Olokun, Erelu Square, Enu-Owa, Shasore Street, Alagbeji and Orisan Community. The journey terminated at the Oba of Lagos Palace.
Citizen NewsNG Recalls that a former Governorship Candidate of the PDP in the state, Dr. Ade Dosunmu and over 100,000 Members defected to APC on Tuesday 14th March.
Similarly, Accord Party Governorship Candidate, Mr. Hakeem Dickson-Olaogun and all the House of Assembly Candidates stepped down and declared Support for Sanwo-Olu.
A Group of Opposition Parties and their Candidates also drummed Support for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Re-election.
