A Nigerian student, Philip Solomon, has been declared the Guinness World Record holder for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.
Guinness World Record in a statement on its website said the most skips in 30 seconds on one foot is 153 and was achieved by Solomon in Akure, Nigeria on 24 January 2023.
In the process, the 17-year-old student in Ondo State broke the previous record of 145 set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.
The record of the student of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure was officially confirmed by the Guinness World Record on Tuesday, four months after his attempt.
“Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title, Rasel Islam after seeing a video of his record attempt,” Guinness World Record announced on its website.
“He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship.”
This is coming barely weeks after Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci was declared as the the current holder of the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking after reaching 100 whopping hours.
Nigeria’s rope skipping Guinness World Records have now increased to two following Solomon’s latest achievement.
He has joined his Ijapo High school, Akure counterpart, Gbenga Ezekiel, who was in February declared the world record holder for most skips on one leg in one minute with 265.
The senior secondary school (SSS) three student also said that he was inspired by the feat of Ezekiel earlier this year.
