In its Intensified effort to promote the Development of Universal Basic Education and Skill Acquisition among students in Lagos State and across Nigeria, Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan (KAO) Foundation has started Registration exercise for the Second edition of Free Summer Coaching for Primary and Secondary School students on Lagos Island Local Government Area and its adjoining Communities.
In a Press release, the Executive Director of Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation said the second edition of the Summer Coaching would be more knowledge-impacting.
“We have engaged more qualified Teachers and Instructors to teach the students. In the coming years, we will invest more in the education sector and Skills Acquisition Training to reduce illiteracy rate and cases of Out-of-school among Lagos Island students”, the statement partly read.
Prince Oyekan vowed that the Foundation will encourage learning and knowledge acquisition and reignite reading culture among the students on Lagos Island Local Government Area.
He stated further that the Foundation has increased the number of intakes for Primary and Secondary Classes from Primary 2 to 6 and JSS 1 – SS 1.
“At Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation, we reiterate our commitment to the development of Universal Basic Education in Lagos and Nigeria to complement the efforts of the State and Federal Governments.
In her words, the Coordinator of the Summer Coaching, Mrs. Yemisi Chude stated that the second edition is the continuity of the goals and objectives of the Foundation led by Prince Taiwo Oyekan.
“The Foundation is determined to impart knowledge with well trained Teachers in a safe and conducive learning environment. We will organise Skills Acquistion Trainings and prepare the students for the next level in Life”,
“The Children are the youths of tomorrow ! The Youths of tomorrow will build the Nation! The Knowledge inculcated in them either positive or negative will build the type of Nation we desire”, Mrs. Chude noted.
She urged Parents to take opportunity provided by the Foundation to enrol their children and/or wards for the Summer coaching.
She stated that students and the general public should expect a 100% effectivess and efficiency in Teaching and learning methods.
“Good Engineer designs gadgets, great Engineer designs society. we are here to design the Society”, she concluded.
Recall that in the first edition of the Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation Free Summer Coaching held in 2022, A Scholarship of One Hundred Thousand Naira (100,000) was presented to Miss Kanyinsola Yusuf, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) student of Government Girls Grammar School, Ikoyi, Lagos after emerging as the Overall Best Student in a Debate Competition organised by the Foundation.
