Councilors in Ijebu East Local Government, Ogun State on Thursday, impeached the suspended chairman of the local government, Hon. Wale Adedayo.

Adedayo’s impeachment was announced shortly after he honoured the invitation of the lawmakers.

Adedayo was impeached on allegations of diversion of funds and mismanagement.

The Councilors alleged that the suspended Chairman owned-up before the full house of 11 councilors that he diverted Federal allocations sent to the Council by the State Government and used them for purposes other than what the State Government approved, among several charges.

It will be recalled that Wale Adedayo was suspended after accusing Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State of hijacking funds meant for LGAs in the state.
