The Deputy Leader of Lagos Island Local Government Legislative Arm and Executive Director, Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation on Saturday 4th November, 2023 distributed over 400 Food Packs to the Vulnerable in Marose Riverine Community, Oja Oba Quarters, Lagos Island Local Government, Lagos, Nigeria.
This is the first Social Intervention Programme held in the Community.
Elderly Citizens, Widows, Physically Challenged and Unemployed Youths were gifted assorted food Items amidst songs of appreciation.
The Prince Taiwo Oyekan-Led Team was received with excitement.
The Residents came out in large numbers to collect the Food Packs.
In his address, Prince Oyekan said the Food Packs Distribution Programme was a direct intervention to the People at the grassroot to cushion the resultant effects of Petroleum subsidy removal.
According to him, the Food Packs will support the most vulnerable households in Marose Riverine Community.
Prince Oyekan however reiterated his commitment to uplifting the Less Privileged in the society.
A Beneficiary, Mr. Hakeem Bakare expressed appreciation to Prince Oyekan for his kind gestures and the gifts presentation.
He said: “This is the first time this type of programme is done here. I want to sincerely thank Omo Oba (Prince Taiwo Oyekan) for the love and support for us”.
In her words, A Petty Trader, simply identified as Iya Modinat said:
“Honourable Taiwo Oyekan, God will continue to Protect and Bless you for providing for us. You did not forget us here even though we live in the remote area in the Local Government”.
She Continued: We are seeing the wonderful Programmes you are doing for the People and the Communities on Lagos Island and beyond. I enjoin you to continue the good work.
