The Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, who is also the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, rejoices with Christians and other Nigerians on the occasion of Christmas celebrations.
Senator Abiru, in his goodwill message, called on Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ, which exemplified tolerance, love, and sacrifice. According to him , there is no better time for national cohesion and peaceful co-existence among all Nigerians than now, urging Christians to lead the charge.
On the economic challenges facing the nation, the Senator urged Nigerians to show understanding with the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. He said the tough economic decisions like the removal of petrol subsidy, unification of foreign exchange, and tax reforms are inevitable actions that must be taken to correct the macroeconomics distortion that has been prevalent in the economy for over a decade now.
The Senator thanked Nigerians, particularly the constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District, for their support for the All Progressives Congress, APC during the 2023 general elections.
He said, ‘I celebrate with the esteemed Constituents of the Lagos East in particular, Lagos state and Nigeria in general as we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
‘I enjoin Christian faithful to uphold his teachings on sacrifice, nation building, peaceful co-existence, and unity. I share in the pains of fellow compatriots in this difficult economic time. I believe that comfort is on the horizon as we start seeing the gains of the tough but bold and inevitable economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
