The Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) has revealed conflicting details regarding the gender claims made by popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky.
Bobrisky faced a six-count charge related to naira mutilation and abuse.
During the court proceedings, two of the charges were dropped, and Bobrisky pleaded guilty as a first-time offender.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently sentenced Bobrisky to six months in prison, with no option for a fine.
Initially, the NCoS stated that Bobrisky would be placed in the male section of the facility, based on the crossdresser identifying as male during the court questioning.
However, the NCoS spokesperson later disclosed that Bobrisky’s genital organs remained unchanged after a medical examination conducted upon admission to the facility.
Furthermore, the NCoS confirmed that Bobrisky would be treated as an ordinary detainee during the duration of the custody.
“Bobrisky made a public declaration that he was a male and court proceedings are public records. Every inmate brought into a facility during admission is examined. He was equally examined and no realignment of gender or genital organ was discovered.
The male biological features were the same.”
