Nigerian Doctor and visual artist Fola David has broken the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the world’s largest drawing by an individual.
David’s colossal artwork spans 850 square meters, surpassing the previous 629.98 square meters held by Ravi Soni from India.
David’s ambition extends beyond this achievement, as he aims to expand his artwork to a staggering 1,000 square meters, further solidifying his position in the record books.
In an Instagram video, David, known for his exceptional skill and passion for art, shared his excitement: “Hi guys, I am so happy to say that we have broken the current record and all we have to do now is set a new one.”
David’s record-breaking attempt is however subject to confirmation from the prestigious British reference book.
During the exercise, a plethora of notable Nigerians visited David at the stadium to offer their support.
They include Peter Obi, former presidential candidate; Hilda Baci, the chef and former GWR holder; Farooq Oreagba, the businessman who stole the show at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival.
The management of the College of Medicine University of Lagos (CMUL) also showed their solidarity and support to David, who is an alumnus of the college.
