Olamide
Nigerian singer and rapper, Olamide, has shared insights into his future music career plans.
In an interview with TooXclusive, Olamide revealed that he had once considered walking away from music altogether to focus more on songwriting.
However, after deep reflection, the artist concluded that he could not imagine his life without music.
“I felt that my life would lack meaning if I stopped making music,” Olamide told Too Xclusive. “It’s such a integral part of who I am.”
The “metaverse” singer went on to explain the rationale behind the title of his new EP, “Ikigai.”
He revealed that the term is derived from Japanese and refers to the idea of finding one’s life purpose.
“I have been taking time out from doing my own personal project for the longest and at some point i actually thought i won’t be making music anymore. Let me just be in the studio writing and all that, but from nowhere something just hit me and i felt the need to, i kinda like found so much more meaning to making music.”
