Late BeatKing
Renowned rapper and producer BeatKing, whose real name was Justin Riley, is dead.
He was a pivotal figure in Houston’s underground music scene and the creative force behind hits like ‘Then Leave’ and ‘Scream.’
Sadly, his manager, Tasha Felder, announced his passing on August 15 through a statement shared on Instagram, leaving the music community in mourning.
She wrote, “Today, Aug. 15, 2024, we have lost @Clubgodzilla (BeatKing). BeatKing has been the best part of the club for over a decade.
“He has produced and worked with so many artists that his sound will forever live. He loved his daughters, his music, and his fans. We will love him forever.”
BeatKing’s legacy lives on through his daughters, who were frequently mentioned in his music and social media posts.
Although the cause of his passing remains undisclosed, his impact on the music industry is undeniable.
His recent chart-topping success with “Then Leave,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart and No. 48 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, solidifies his enduring influence on the music world.
