Michael Adeyinka, the Nigerian disc jockey fondly called DJ Tunez, says Wizkid, the Afrobeats star, paid him N10 million to play ‘Fuji Vibe’, a recently released song by Asake, at a London concert.
DJ Tunez was among the headliners at the London Afrocarnival concert held at the Koko Camden arena in the United Kingdom.
The Nigerian-American DJ entertained the cheering concertgoers with some hit songs like Ayra Starr’s ‘Sability’, Shallipopi’s ‘Cast’, and ‘Trabaye’ by Burna Boy’.
While thrilling concertgoers, DJ Tunez paused and announced the generous payment from the ‘Made In Lagos’ hitmaker to the cheering crowd.
He also gave a shout out to Wizkid while describing ‘Fuji Vibe’ as a “deep African song”.
“Wizkid just sent me N10 million to play this song,” he said.
“Welcome to the Afro carnival edition. We are taking you inside Africa. That is the Koko. DJ Tunez in the building. Star Boy this is you.”
‘Fuji Vibe’ is one of the songs from Asake’s third studio album titled ‘Lungu Boy’.
In the song, Asake delivered a mixture of Afrobeats and Fuji sound.
DJ Tunez has served as Wizkid’s official DJ for more than half a decade.
He gained popularity after ‘Iskaba’, his first production with Wande Coal.
He has collaborated with other artistes such as Sarz, Burna Boy, Busiswa, Reekado Banks and Omah Lay.
