The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has prepared to begin the collation of results of the Saturday’s governorship elections in Ondo State.
SaharaReporters learnt that the electoral body had set up the stage to start the official collation at 10pm on Saturday night.
Results of the ongoing governorship election in Ondo State have started to trickle in.
Thousands of the polling units’ results have been released.
SaharaReporters had reported that an agent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had accused an official of the INEC of writing an incorrect result on the official sheet in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election.
The PDP agent, therefore, challenged the INEC official to bring out her record for proper cross-checking.

INEC is expected to announce a winner for the election after completion of all collation processes and exercises.
Already the PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi, had alleged bias in the conduct of the election.
He had expressed concerns over the electoral process after casting his vote at Apoi Ward 11, Unit 004 in Ese-Odo Local Government Area.
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Lucky Aiyedatiwa had won his polling unit in his bid to secure a full-term election.
SaharaReporters earlier reported how the APC flag bearer voted at his polling unit 005, Ward 4, Obenla, in the Ilaje Local Government Area.
It was learnt that he eventually won the polling units with the highest votes cast.
He scored 128 votes while his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scoring three votes.
Meanwhile, Agboola Ajayi had also won his polling unit.
Ajayi who had earlier voiced his disappointment with the electoral process after casting his vote at Apoi Ward 02, Unit 004 in Kiribo, Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State scored 194 votes out of 204 accredited votes.
Ajayi had expressed frustration with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) malfunctioning, which delayed his accreditation for about 10 minutes.
He had stated, “The system has been compromised. It is sad INEC can’t conduct election well in one state.”
The criticism suggests that Ajayi doubts the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ability to ensure a fair and smooth electoral process.
The PDP candidate’s dissatisfaction had echoed earlier complaints from his party about BVAS malfunctions and potential bias from INEC officials, particularly the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barrister Olatoyin Babalola.
Ajayi had questioned the REC’s impartiality, saying, “We have said it severally that we don’t trust Barrister Olatoyin Babalola, that this woman can’t be fair.”
SaharaReporters had reported that amid the ongoing gubernatorial election in Ondo State, suspected thugs reportedly fired multiple gunshots, scaring voters away in Idanre town.
The incident was said to have taken place at Ofosu village, in ldanre council area of Ondo state.
The incident, it was gathered had led to voters fleeing the scene.
The development it was gathered led to panic, forcing people to stay indoors to avoid stray bullets.
