The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has officially welcomed a new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) as Bayo Ojulari assumed leadership of the national oil giant, taking over from his predecessor, Mele Kyari.
The handover ceremony, held on Friday at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, marked a significant transition at the helm of the organization. In his remarks, Ojulari commended Kyari for his dedication and the remarkable strides made during his tenure.
“I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” Ojulari said, addressing Kyari during the ceremony.
The new GCEO emphasized that his leadership would focus on consolidating the achievements of the past administration while steering the company toward a new phase of growth and operational excellence.
“Though the targets set for us are enormous, I am confident that with the cooperation of the Management and staff, as well as guidance from my predecessor, we will succeed,” Ojulari stated.
In his farewell speech, Mele Kyari congratulated Ojulari on his appointment and expressed gratitude to the entire NNPC workforce for their support throughout his tenure.
“I will continue to support the new Management in every way I can. I’m only a call away,” Kyari assured.
This transition is seen as a critical moment for NNPC Ltd as it navigates the evolving dynamics of the global energy sector and continues its transformation into a commercially driven enterprise.
