Against all odds, Olayinka, a resilient young Nigerian, has transformed years of rejection and hardship into a triumphant academic success story. He graduated with a First-Class degree in Finance and emerged as the best student in his department at the University of Ilorin.

A Journey Marked by Challenges: Olayinka’s academic journey began with four unsuccessful attempts to gain admission into the University of Ilorin. Undeterred, he eventually secured a spot at the Federal Polytechnic Offa to study Banking and Finance. Despite facing prolonged academic strikes, Olayinka excelled, graduating with an outstanding CGPA of 3.73/4.0 and clinching the award for best graduating student in his department.

Overcoming Adversity: Olayinka’s university journey was marked by turbulence. His three-year degree stretched to four years due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and further strikes. He faced significant challenges, including lack of accommodation, hunger, and financial struggles. At times, he had to depend on side hustles and tutoring younger students to stay afloat.

Resilience and Determination: Through every challenge, Olayinka stayed committed to his goals. His resilience and tenacity were ultimately rewarded when he graduated as the best student in the Department of Finance at the University of Ilorin. Grateful for the people who stood by him, including his father and Faculty Adviser, Olayinka remains hopeful about the future.
