The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised petrol pump prices to N925 per litre in Lagos and N950 per litre in Abuja, effective April 2, 2025.
This marks a N65–N70 increase from previous rates, following similar hikes by MRS and independent marketers, who recently set prices at N930 in Lagos and N960 in northern Nigeria.
The adjustment comes amid market deregulation, rising global oil prices, and exchange rate fluctuations, as well as Dangote Refinery’s suspension of naira-based petroleum sales.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bayo Ojulari as the new NNPCL Group CEO, replacing Mele Kyari in a leadership shake-up.
